Chinese actress Jewel grew up as youngster in the Chinese city of Guilin. She studied at the Guilin High School and speaks fluent english, mandarin and Cantonese. She took later financial management classes at the Macquarie University in Sydney (Australia). She also practiced dancing and horseback riding on young age.
She was awarded as Miss Photogenic at the Miss Macao Pageant contest in 1996. She was appointed as vice-president of the Chinese 3NOD Digital Group in 2008.
She started wushu training when she was nine years old, and moves to Macao as professional wushu athlete when she was eighteen. She became Wu Shu World Champion at the Macao International Wushu Tournament Macao in 1994. Her efforts finally paid off after years of wushu training. She was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Martial Arts Alliance in 2001.

She plays Jewel Li and Anthony Wong plays criminal Charles Chau who kidnaps an entire school in ''Fist Power'' (2000). He wants to exchange the hostages against the son of mainland security officer Brian Cheuk (played by Wenzhuo Zhao). Brian must race against the clock to bring his son to school, before the man decides to kill everyone. He is determined to stop the criminal before the exchange happens, with the purpose to rescue the hostages.
She plays female assassin Jing in this story about Madam M (played by Almen Wong), the leader of a mysterious assassin organization who abducts young girls across the globe in ''Naked Weapon'' (2002). She transports them to an remote island, where the girls are trained to professional assassins. Charlene Ching (played by Maggie Q), Katt (played by Anya Wu) and Jing are the only survivors who are graduated after a gruesome training of six years. The three girls get the opportunity to do one final mission in order to regain their freedom. Yakuza boss Ryuichi (played by Andrew Lin) hires Madam M to eliminate a traitor in his gang. The mission is a trap of Ryuichi in order to take revenge for his partner, who was assassinated previously by Charlene. Ryuichi kills Madam M and captures Katt, while Charlene escapes. She comes to rescue her when she fights against Ryuichi in a bloody hard fight.
